Valentine’s Day
I had lobster for the first time last night. Anna picked it up at T & T. I guess the, uh, seabutcher asked if she wanted him to kill the lobster and she said yes, so he split the lobster in two. The only problem was that that the lobster was still twitching when it was in the pot, being steamed. Somehow, I’ve gotten over my squeamishness (despite having listened to “Consider The Lobster”) and steeled myself to this. Anna, however, started gagging.
If ever you try to cook a lobster this way (namely, split in two), I strongly recommend rinsing it first and chopping the “head-sac” off before steaming. There was a lot of nasty goo in dat.
Later we watched parts of “The Birdcage” and “Bring It On,” being too tired to walk to the video store. Solid “Daily Show,” what with Dick Cheney having shot a man, you know, in the face.
